La Viñuela

Description

Located in the region of Axarquia in Malaga, it is a municipality noted for its rich agricultural and cultural tradition. Its name comes from the vineyards that once populated the area, and although nowadays its cultivation is more reduced, especially in areas such as Los Romanes, the production of muscatel sultanas is still emblematic. This tradition is celebrated annually at the Raisin Fair, one of the oldest gastronomic festivals in Malaga, where homage is paid to this age-old crop with tastings of typical dishes, workshops and musical performances.

In addition, La Viñuela has a remarkable cultural heritage, including the 16th century Church of San José and the Torre de la Atalaya of Arab origin. The reservoir of La Viñuela, the largest in the province, not only provides scenic beauty, but is also a meeting point for recreational activities and community events. The local gastronomy is another pillar of its culture, with traditional dishes such as ajoblanco, gazpacho and ensaladilla cateta, reflecting the culinary richness of the region.
