As early as the late 16th century, it was listed as one of the villages with the highest grape production, and was cited as the preferred supplier for certain merchants in Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>It takes place on the first Saturday in August and pays tribute to the <a href=\"https:\/\/turismoaxarquiacostadelsol.com\/en\/sipam\/\">Muscat grape<\/a>, one of the Axarqu\u00eda\u2019s most iconic products.<\/p>\n<p>The grape harvest takes place during the month of August. During this month, the vast majority of families in the municipality head out to the countryside to carry out the tasks of harvesting and drying the grapes. For this reason, the Muscat Grape Festival is also a celebration of gratitude for the grape harvest that is about to take place.
