Once the harvest is complete \u2013 the latest in the province \u2013 the municipality of<a href=\"https:\/\/turismoaxarquiacostadelsol.com\/en\/municipalities\/periana\/\"> Periana<\/a> is celebrating \u201cVerdial Olive Oil Day\u201d with a massive olive oil tasting event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto_justificado\">The oil is produced in the <strong>two olive oil mills in the municipality, San Jos\u00e9 Artesano in Mondr\u00f3n, and San Isidro in the village of Periana,<\/strong> On that day, visitors have the opportunity to purchase, in addition to olive oil, a range of other products typical of the Alta Axarqu\u00eda, such as sweets, muscatel wine, raisins and nuts. Visitors can also tour the premises, where traditional tools and equipment used in olive oil production are on display.<\/p>\n<p>The day begins with a traditional <strong>a miller\u2019s breakfast of bread and olive oil<\/strong> and continues with food tastings, craft and art exhibitions, demonstrations of traditional trades and performances by verdiales groups. During the festival, the <strong>Verdial Oil Awards<\/strong>, which recognise individuals and organisations for their contribution to the development and promotion of the municipality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto_justificado\">It is one of the most important culinary events in the province of M\u00e1laga, where visitors can also enjoy traditional verdiales music.
