The P\u00f3sito was a municipal warehouse for storing grain, mainly wheat, to supply the towns and farmers in times of shortage. In 1581 its operation was regularised, and in 1751 a government body was established to supervise its management.<\/p>\n
This granary was built in the mid-18th century, with a rectangular floor plan on two levels. The first level, in the form of a \"Lonja\", has a succession of columns crowned by semicircular arches that support the forged vaults. The upper floor, with a structure of arches and large columns, was used as a granary for storing wheat. Its Baroque-inspired fa\u00e7ade is divided into sections by semi columns, with a central balcony flanked by two medallions.<\/p>\n
