Torrox Beach

Description

Torrox is a coastal town in the Axarquia region known for having the best climate in Europe. It has an interesting historical heritage with the Roman archaeological site of El Faro and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación standing out.

Other obligatory stops on the tourist itinerary are the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, the Casa de la Moneda (Mint) and the hermitage of San Roque. The old town centre, just a few kilometres from the coastal strip, offers the image of a white village with Moorish reminiscences.

Close to the sea, Torrox concentrates most of its accommodation and leisure facilities next to some of the best beaches on the Eastern Costa del Sol. The beaches of Ferrara and El Morche are worthy of quality distinctions such as: SICTED (Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destinations), Q for Tourist Quality and Blue Flag.

Torrox is one of the municipalities of the Ruta del Sol y del Vino, which combines the best of the coast and the interior. Alongside a beautiful coastline of beaches dotted with cliffs and coves, there is a succession of hills laden with vineyards, white farmhouses and farmhouses where the sweet wine, famous since Roman times, is made.
