The municipality of Viñuela is located in a privileged natural environment, where the gentle relief of the Corredor de Colmenar merges with the mountains of La Axarquía. Its landscapes are dominated by olive groves and cereal fields, creating a typically Andalusian picture.
One of its main attractions is the reservoir of La Viñuela, whose large sheet of water adds a special beauty to the landscape. From its dam, you can admire breathtaking views that extend as far as the Sierra Tejeda and the Boquete de Zafarraya, offering an incomparable natural spectacle.
Further downstream from the dam, when the valley of the river Guaro closes off to enter the mountains of the Axarquía, the surroundings are rugged and dominated by slate hills covered mostly by scrub and some stands of holm oaks, as well as olive trees and vineyards. At the bottoms of the rivers and streams that flow through the municipality near the old road, there are frequent small orchards of orange trees, vegetables and subtropical crops, which, together with the houses that line this road, form places of great beauty.
