Canillas de Aceituno stretches along the slopes of Sierra Tejeda, in the north of Axarquia, reaching up to the Maroma peak (2,065 m.). Its landscape, dominated by pine forests and rocky outcrops, is spectacular, with breathtaking panoramic views. The gorge of the river Almanchares stands out, a natural spot between cliffs and pine groves, where you can rest in the local facilities. At the other end, the Tajos Lisos offer views of a vertical limestone cut and, at sunset, you can see Hispanic goats. In the south, the hilly landscape of the Axarquía is characterised by hills covered with vineyards, olive groves and orchards.
