Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park

Description

The peaks of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park form a natural border between the provinces of Malaga and Granada. From the Tejeda peak, at an altitude of 2,065 metres, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Mediterranean coast and the neighbouring sierras, frequented by hikers and mountaineers. It is easy to spot large eagles, such as the golden eagle and Bonelli's eagle, in flight in this area of trees and rocky outcrops. Of great interest is the population of the ibex, an exclusively Iberian species, which has one of the most numerous in the country in the Park. Rivers and streams flow rapidly down the slopes of these sierras, offering spectacular waterfalls and gorges.
