Cerro del Santo Cristo

For unparalleled views of Alfarnate, the valley and the surrounding mountains, the best option is to climb the Santo Cristo hill. At the top of the natural viewpoint, there is a small altar with the image of the Cristo de Medinaceli, which is the last stop on the town's ancient Way of the Cross. There are several walks through the area and there are tables and benches for visitors to sit and contemplate the native flora of this inland municipality in the Axarquia region. At night, the area is illuminated in a traditional way to admire the curious shapes of the limestone.
