It is located in the town of Benajarafe and is also known as Torre Gorda. This watchtower formed part of the extensive system of surveillance and defence of the coast against attacks and invasions by ships. It was built in the 18th century, standing on a hill some 15 metres above sea level. It is a typical 'hoof tower' or horseshoe-shaped tower with a base. The upper floor was the entrance and is nowadays reached by means of a masonry staircase. The chamber for housing the troops was located in this body, open with an opening at each end, and from here there was access to the roof. It is characterised by its masonry construction, with ashlars to reinforce the corners and larger lateral openings.
