DAIMALOS MAIN SOURCE

DAIMALOS MAIN SOURCE

Daimalos (Arenas)
This is the main fountain that supplied water to the Andalusian farmstead of Daimalos and its irrigated areas. There is no exact date of construction, although it is known to have existed during the Nasrid and Moorish periods, as it is mentioned in the Libro de Apeos y Repartimientos de Daimalos in 1571. Its doorway is framed by a horseshoe arch and the interior is covered by a groined vault inlaid with Andalusian ceramics. It is popularly known as “the fountain of love”.
