ANDALUSÍ BRIDGE OF SEDELLA

ANDALUSÍ BRIDGE OF SEDELLA

Sedella
It dates from the Nasrid period due to the size of the bricks of its archivolt (28x41x4.5 cm) and is relatively well preserved. It is located to the north of Sedella, less than a kilometre away, on the road to Alhama, passing over the Cuascuadra hill. It was built to cross what is known as the Puente river. The construction of its vault and facing is of ashlar while its archivolt is of brick. Like most of the bridges of that period, it has an arched roadway. It has a semicircular arch. It forms part of the beautiful scenery of the ascent to the Sierra Tejeda and the Gran Senda de Málaga currently passes through it.
