ALQUERÍA DE TOTALÁN

ALQUERÍA DE TOTALÁN

Totalán
It is the most important of the numerous farmsteads along the course of the river Totalán. It occupied the slope of a hill framed by two tributary streams of the Totalán, which also constitute the bases of the springs that supplied the farmstead. The fountain of El Chorro, possibly of Andalusian origin, is still preserved. There are no remains of the tower of the farmstead, which is mentioned in the Books of Repartimientos of Málaga, nor of its original mosque. To the north of the farmstead, on the hill known as "Cañada de los Muertos", there seems to have been a rábita or sanctuary.
