The gastronomy of the Axarquia is as varied as its landscapes. Seafood products rule the table in the coastal villages, while the cuisine of the interior still retains its Arabic influence. This influence can be seen in the way food is prepared, but also in the traditions of the region and even in the way the land is cultivated.

Its diversity has therefore been its greatest strength, giving rise to highly prestigious productions, such as its wines and sultanas, oil, honey and subtropical crops, which have added to the culinary wealth of the Axarquia.
