Nerja has a great gastronomic richness that tourists and visitors can enjoy in the wide range of restaurants in the municipality. From beach bars to traditional bars and renowned restaurants, there is a network of restaurants where you can taste typical dishes, as well as other more innovative ones in which the base are always zero kilometre products; vegetables, tropical fruits, avocado or mango, or seafood and fish, which becomes a pleasant and unforgettable experience to enjoy with family or friends.
Nerja's gastronomic offer is marked by its coastal location. Fish is the basis of most of the dishes prepared in the town.
Traditional Nerjeña dishes include egg or almond soups, emblanco de pescado, cazuela de fideos with dried beans or cabbage, migas, sopa de tomate con almejas y sardinas (tomato soup with clams and sardines) and calabaza frita (fried pumpkin).
One of the best ways to enjoy the flavours of Nerja is to wander through its streets and visit the tapas bars specialising in boquerones, puntillas, salmonetillos, etc.
