FRIGILIANA

FRIGILIANA

Frigiliana
Frigiliana has deep Andalusian roots, visible in its urban layout, with its narrow streets and steep slopes. From very early on, Frigiliana formed part of the history of al-Andalus during its different periods, becoming the main town of a Taha during the Nasrid period. Its main economic activity was the production of silk, accompanied by the production of oil, grapes and figs. After the conquest of 1487, its Andalusian population remained, preserving their identity, until they were first forced to convert to Christianity and then defeated and expelled after their rebellion in the 16th century.
