MUDEJAR OF THE CONVENT OF SAN FRANCISCO

MUDEJAR OF THE CONVENT OF SAN FRANCISCO

Vélez-Málaga
The Royal Convent of San Francisco was built in the Mudejar style in the first half of the 16th century and the Andalusian minaret with sebka decoration remains, reused as a bell tower. The Mudejar style cloister stands out, which combines the lower galleries of peralted brick arches with alfiz on octagonal pilasters of clear Andalusian inspiration, which contrast with the lowered arcades of the upper galleries of fully Renaissance design.
