Canillas de Albaida's physiognomy retains the recognisable pattern of the Andalusian farmhouses. Its houses lie on a hillside under the auspices of its castle (now the hermitage of Santa Ana). Within its space, the different moments of growth of the farmhouse are recognisable by the presence of wider streets than in the rest. Once we enter its neighbourhoods, we can see how they are criss-crossed with narrow streets that lead to small squares, thus clearly showing the fact that Canillas de Albaida is clearly part of the Andalusian urban planning systems.
