The hermitage of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, dating from the 17th century, is a Baroque style temple which houses the image of the patron saint of Nerja.
It has a single nave topped with a barrel vault. The dome contains paintings from the 18th century Granada school. It has a simple belfry protruding from the nave, and in the dome there are frescoes possibly attributed to the Granada school of Alonso Cano, alluding to Pentecost.

El Ingenio de “San Antonio Abad” fue el primer ingenio azucarero de Nerja. Se tiene constancia que trabajaba a pleno rendimiento allá por el 1595, siendo propiedad de Juan de Briones, y ha permanecido en funcionamiento hasta el siglo XIX. Este ingenio fue comprado por los Larios en 1872.
The remains of this sugar factory are of special interest due to the decorative engravings found on one of its walls, which include aquatic and naval motifs. There are also remains of the mill that was attached to it, known as Tablones.

The sculptor Francisco Martín is the author of this sculpture of King Alfonso XII, which was inaugurated on 28 February 2003.
Located on the left side of the Balcón de Europa and leaning on its railing, it commemorates the visit that the monarch made to Nerja in January 1885 on the occasion of the great earthquake that shook the Axarquia region on 25 December 1884.
Restored in 2020, it has become a tourist attraction and the most photographed sculpture in the town.
