La Viñuela Archaeological Sites

La Viñuela has three archaeological sites:

• On the hill of the Asperones
• In the Castillejos
• In Herrera's workshop.

From the Palaeolithic period, abundant remains have been found in the Llanos de Herrera and on the terraces of the river Guaro, where the La Viñuela dam is located today. Before the waters of the reservoir covered the area, more than fourteen sites were excavated, ranging from the Neolithic to Roman times.
