Benagalbón

Crossing the cobbled streets of Benagalbón is like taking a step back in time. This small village, the most unique of the four that make up the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria, treasures among its whitewashed houses and steep narrow streets the most valuable historical and cultural legacy of the whole area.

Despite being the least populated part of the municipality of Rincon, Benagalbón makes up for its size by having a extraordinary cultural wealth. Its origins date back to the 11th century, when it was possibly founded by a Berber tribe during the North African invasions, whose name gave identity to both the locality and the municipality that would be created centuries later.
