Bodegas Almijara is located in Cómpeta, in the heart of the Axarquía region, at an altitude of 636 metres above sea level and on the slopes of the Tejeda and Almijara mountain ranges, which form an impressive mountain range forming a geographical barrier between the provinces of Málaga and Granada.
Almijara Winery began in 1993, when the production of its now famous Jarel wines In 2000 it joined the Malaga and Sierras de Malaga Designations of Origin.
The wines are made exclusively with varieties native to the Axarquia Costa del Sol area, such as Moscatel de Alexandria and the Rome.
Traditional winery specialising in Muscatel wine, where visitors can learn about the winemaking process and see first-hand how traditional methods have been maintained over time. The experience includes a tour of the winery's facilities and ends with a wine tasting.
