The Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol - Axarquia has decided to implement a Tourism Quality Management System based on the UNE-ISO 13810:2023 standard.

Q QUALITY

The Q for Tourism Quality guarantee mark is a Spanish mark of recognised prestige aimed at the voluntary certification of tourism services. A tourism organisation obtains the Q for Tourism Quality when it evidences compliance with the technical requirements dictated by the corresponding standard. The organisation must implement a management system oriented towards customer service and continuous improvement.

Mancomunidad is the institution responsible for the management and promotion of the tourist destination 'Axarquía-Costa del Sol'. The regional institution has certified five routes in the Axarquia region with the Q for Quality. These are the Mudejar Route, the Raisin Route, the Sun and Avocado Route, the Olive Oil and Los Montes Route, and the Sun and Wine Route.

Thanks to the management of the Mancomunidad, these five routes have been recognised with the National Q Quality Award granted by the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality and the Secretary of State.

What is Destination-SICTED?

The SCTE Destinos-SICTED project, promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism (SET) and supported by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), aims to improve tourist experience and satisfaction. It works with tourism establishments from up to 36 different trades, implementing a comprehensive and permanent quality management system. This approach seeks continuous improvement, recovery and valorisation of resources and spaces, with a conception of expected results centred on the cooperation of all the agents involved.

The label

The badge certifies compliance with quality requirements and recognises the effort and commitment to continuous improvement of tourist establishments/services. A plaque is awarded every two years to highlight the company in the quality system.
