With the boom in cherry cultivation in Alfarnate and the excellent quality of this produce, a cherry festival has been held every year since 2006, during which visitors can sample and buy cherries directly from the growers.
The trade fair comprises more than twenty stalls, where, in addition to cherries, you can find other typical local products, such as bread, sweets, vegetables and olive oil.
The City Council is handing out nearly 600 kilos of cherries, as well as offering tastings of local cuisine. The day is rounded off with music, traditional dances and fandangos.
