Loquat Day in Sayalonga

2 May 2027

A Festival of National Tourist Interest and a Festival of Provincial Tourist Distinctiveness.

Loquat Day pays tribute to one of Sayalonga’s main agricultural products and has established itself as one of the most important festivals in the Axarquía, attracting thousands of visitors every year.

The festival takes place between Plaza Don Rafael Alcoba, Plaza de la Constitución and the Morisco Museum, where theatrical performances, musical acts, exhibitions and a local craft market are organised. The official opening speech and the presentation of the Níspero Awards, in their local, regional and provincial categories, also take place.

Throughout the day, folk and musical performances continue, whilst visitors can sample the town’s most iconic produce free of charge: wine, loquats and loquat jam.
